CHICAGO (July 25, 2018) – It’s not just novelists who sometimes struggle with finding the right words. Corporate communications and PR pros can also find it challenging to craft the most compelling way to tell their stories.
To help professional communicators send writer’s block packing, CBD Marketing’s Executive Creative Director, Mary Olivieri, will lead a workshop at the upcoming Writing for PR and Communications Conference in Boston, August 1-2.
The workshop is titled “Brilliance on demand: breakthrough creative processes to inspire, transform and accelerate your writing.” It’s scheduled from 9 – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1.
“Creativity is the coin of the realm—it’s what bosses and clients pay you for, especially if your creative ideas inspire action,” says Olivieri. “It’s not always easy to deliver brilliance on demand, though. But—good news—you can learn easy exercises to successfully tap the creative corners of your mind—even when you’re under extreme pressure to perform.”
The session includes:
- Improvisational exercises to bring the words forth freely
- The power of “Yes, and…” to bring you to better places in your writing and craft stronger stories
- The creative process that transformed the marketing of ITW BuildClean, Firestone and Dos Equis
- Savvy ways to manipulate your “same-old” writing style
- How to inspire your own creative thinking using successful examples and exercises
“I’m eager to help attendees get rid of their inner editor and bring out the fearless writer locked inside,” Olivieri concludes.
Olivieri is a regular speaker at Ragan conferences, bringing her improv-based training to interactive sessions that get corporate communicators out of their seats and their comfort zones, ready to create attention-getting, on-strategy content.
